Chrome
Material Surface Finish Metallic
Description
Chromium, sometimes known as "chrome," is an element that occurs naturally.
It is a metal but serves more as plating than as a solid. Over a different surface
material like steel, brass, aluminum, plastic, copper, or stainless steel, a thin c
oating of it is placed. The chemical element chromium, with the atomic number
24, is a steel additive. Chromium plating, often known as chrome plating, prolongs
the life of metal or technical parts and reduces wear and tear.
Why This Material Was Chosen ?
I have chosen this material as it is used in a wide verity of products and gives a
pleasant experience when looking at the metallic family of materials. It will be
beneficial to understand what is required to recreate this metal as it will be useful
when producing certain mainstream products.
