Buffing, polishing, cleaning, dipping in acid, and adding zinc

and copper plating are the first steps in the lengthy and

intricate process of chrome plating. After re-buffing,

cleaning, and re-dipping, the procedure for show chrome is

completed by plating more copper, two to three types of

nickel plating, and then the chrome plating.

        Material Origin

The name of this lovely and practical element, chromium,

originates from the Greek word for color, chroma. Professor

Nicolas Louis Vauquelin, a French scientist, made the

discovery in 1797. It is believed that Professor Vauquelin

        founded modern metallurgy.
