Rubber
Material Surface Finish Elastomer
Manufacturing Replication Process Description
Coal, oil, and other hydrocarbons are some of the most
popular source materials. After these components have
been refined, manufacturers create naphtha. After that,
naphtha and gas are mixed to make monomers. By
transforming this into polymer chains, which call for steam
and vulcanization, rubber is produced.
Material Origin
Hevea brasiliensis, a kind of rubber tree, is the source of
natural rubber. Christopher Columbus discovered rubber in
Central America on his second expedition in 1493, making
him the first European to do so.
