PROJECT BRIEF
At the start of the project I will be assigned an existing grooming product, a brand
and an Iconic designer and asked to design a next generation product celebrating
the chosen designer and brand.
The Minor Design project is designed to encourage me to communicate form
generation effieciently through both sketching and sketch models. I am expected
to engage with traditional design methodologies to propose a highly developed
product concept.
GIVEN PRODUCT
PHILIPS PRESTIGE SATIN SHAVER BRL 170
The project will use a Philips shaver Prestige BRL 170. The shaver will be designed
based on Kenya Hara’s philosophy and aesthetic, while still adhering to Philips’
manufacturing limitations. The new shaver will have several features, including a
dual foil system, a battery life of 1 hour on a single charge, a 5-minute quick charge,
a battery indicator, and a multiflex head. Additionally, it will be waterproof, thus
providing an elevated shaving experience.
