REDESIGN PROJECT

                    REFLECTION

I believed I was thorough in research. Being able to present my research however was difficult, as I did not organise and rank
the findings. Structured user research I learned is immensely helpful. Like a semi structured interview, force ranking or pair wise

analysis. It is better for organising primary findings and then presenting clearer later to clients.
As there was primary testing being done it helped me learn how to capture my research to show exactly what I wanted to say,
to get straight to the point when presenting.

I started iterating through 3D forms early along with the sketching to understand the complex shapes of the handle. The sketch
models helped a lot when entering Solidworks, as the shapes from this project were generated by my design. It took a lot of
time to produce the shape, however it was worth it going into rapidly prototyping the model (3D printing).

My decision making improved, as there was no external user to pick what direction to go at each millstone. Having to be
confident in each decision was daunting but made sure the decisions were strong. Collaborating in the studio environment was
useful for quick pieces of feedback to keep moving with the iterations.
Talking to ‘expert users’ who use similar products is a lot more beneficial than talking to many general people from a survey. I

will continue to collaborate and get opinions throughout the design process. I like to make sure the decisions made are based
                    in evidence.

Planning was good and useful when looking at the big picture to keep on track. Planning more time for skills I need to improve

is something I need to focus on at the beginning of a project. Decide what personal motivations I want to get from the project,
e.g. focus on collecting first hand research or rendering, before the project starts to assign more time to them.

I need to improve on my rendering. To present my ideas as more realistic and understandable. My first iteration of the final

render was hard to understand that I was trying to communicate the material finish.

I needed to improve my oral presentation to be concise and have a continuous flow through the presentations.

The market and logo update was interesting to develop. To portray the brand essence through a logo was challenging,
although I am happy with the result, my graphics in how I achieved it can improve.

Overall, I am very happy with the finished look and finish of the model. It is the second model I have fully sprayed and

finished a model with internals. The vinyl printed logo finished the model nicely.
