BOULE VS. LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

As we break for summer & prepare for the 70th Boule Conference,
our International Business meeting, please take an opportunity to
review…

The executive power of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
lies in the Boule. This body has final authority in all policy decisions
and adjudications. The Boule has delegated powers to the Directorate
to administer the business of the Sorority when the Boule is not in
session.

• The Boule is… the constitutional, decision-making body of the
Sorority. The Boule, when in session, exercises its power to elect the
Directorate, to approve or disapprove policies recommended by the
Directorate, regions, committees, &/or its members or commissions.
The Directorate is directly responsible to the Boule.

• Leadership Seminar…. This seminar, structured to meet the needs
of current & potential leaders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated, is offered biennially in the summers when the Boule
does not meet.

As part of the program of the Sorority, it is the responsibility of the
Leadership Development Committee to structure a seminar
experience which will help the leadership & the sorors of Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to manage the organization & to
implement its program of service.

Boule Meetings/Conference: Every 2 years
Leadership Seminar: Biennially (in the summer when Boule does not
meet)

*Due to Covid 19 Concerns & Restrictions:
The South Louisiana Cluster of the South Central Region hosted the
first-ever combined Boule and Leadership Seminar in the history of
Alpha Kappa Alpha. The 69th Boule Conference & 2021 Leadership
Seminar were conducted virtually. (Manual of Standard Procedure)

During 70th Boule, please take advantage a myriad of business
sessions, forums, & valuable networking opportunities. It will be
filled with a myriad of learning opportunities to place in your AKA
Toolbox. Additionally, our new International President, Soror Danette
Anthony Reed, will be installed & introduce new information
regarding our International Programs Platform… Stay Alert!!!
