Christian Women’s Job Corps of Madison County, Alabama, Inc., began officially in 1998, when
four local women attended the first national training in Birmingham sponsored by the Women’s
Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Convention. CWJC of Madison County, Alabama,
Inc., operates under the direction of a Board of Directors, consisting of church and community
representatives. CWJC of Madison County, Alabama, Inc., is a 501c3 organization totally
dependent on the gifts of individuals, corporations, and local churches. CWJC of Madison
County neither gives funds nor receives funds from the national organization. From its
beginning, CWJC of Madison County has operated as a “Church and Community Model”,
incorporating Christian churches from throughout the county as well as community
organizations and facilities. They are supported by several churches as well as health,
educational, government, and business organizations throughout the county. The three school-
type sites are made possible by support from many individuals and groups throughout Madison
County. CWJC is dependent on and grateful for volunteers from these support groups. They
hope to grow and expand their ministry and their legacy for years to come and always welcome
new support in the form of donors, mentors, and community partners. Soror Barbara Williams
is a member of the Board of Directors for CWJC. The EGO Sorors enjoyed an afternoon dining
together during the luncheon.
