Target 2 Sorors LaToya McComb, Marian Guidry, and Tonya Wood
distributed heart healthy snack bags to the Debutantes during the third
Debutante Training Session. Target 2’s subcommittee on Nutrition and
Wellness wanted to engage in projects that emphasize nutrition that
encourages making healthy food choices even in snacks. Poor nutrition
has a negative effect on the physical health and financial well being of
the African American community where nutritionally related diseases are
almost 50% higher than in other communities.
