                                                        I began my message in the last issue of The

                           Basileus Corner              EGO Ivy Informer with a message that I
                                                        described as “sadness” because I was

                                                        announcing the last issue of The EGO Ivy

                           Soror Wilma J. Ruffin        Informer of which Soror Latoyia Clemons
                                                        would serve as editor. For this issue, I am

                                                        pleased to begin with an announcement that
                                                        is filled with “happiness”. I am delighted to

                                                        announce that we have a new editor, Soror

                                                        Yolanda Dial. I am eternally grateful to her

for graciously accepting this position. The EGO Ivy Informer is our source of chapter news filled with
beautiful “action” pictures and articles that illustrate our service, fun, and celebrations. Soror

Yolanda has captured the EGO happenings in this issue and she is ready and anxious to publish

the next issue. She informed me that information is continuously being submitted. Sorors,
Special Thanks to you for your submissions and a Heartfelt Thank You and much
Appreciation to our editor, Soror Yolanda Dial.

As you peruse this inaugural issue, produced by our new editor, you will find it packed with highlights of the
many service, educational and commemorative events in the enthusiastic, energetic, spirited and service
rendering life of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter. In this issue of
the newsletter we celebrate several events that are significant for Alpha Kappa Alpha and Epsilon Gamma
Omega:

Observance of Founders’ Day and recognition of our First Diamond Soror~Evangeline Spillman.
International Sisterly Relations Day and the reveal of the historic “Hidden Figures”.
