of the movie "Hidden Figures" at
the Carmike Cinemas Valley Bend
18 on January 15, 2017 for Sisterly
Relations Day.
More than 300 sorors gathered to watch the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan
and Mary Jackson - brilliant Alpha Kappa Alpha women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind
one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. This stunning
achievement restored the nation's confidence, turned the Space Race around, and galvanized the world. The
visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big. They are Hidden Figures
no more!
