INTRODUCTION
The purpose of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is to establish uniformity across
all departments and teams within a business, to maintain consistent quality of work,
and to reduce issues that impact productivity or result in failure to meet applicable
standards. These documents are intended to assist and encourage compliance and
consistency with our policies and procedures. HR SOPs were thought of from the
employee point of view
All SOPs are written using a standard SOP template which includes:
Purpose: What is the purpose of the SOP?
Applicability: To whom does it apply?
Responsibilities: Who are the employees involved?
Procedure: Series of steps taken to accomplish a task
References: List of resources that are useful to review and provide rationale for
development of the task.
Definitions (where applicable): Definitions and/or acronyms used in the SOP that may need
clarification to aid understanding.
Header: Includes revision number, implementation date, update date and approval
information.
As new SOPs need is identified, new SOPs will be developed, as well as the need for
revisions to
modify an existing document.
SOP changes will be documented in a tracked version with rationale documented and
referenced
under the change within the body of the SOP. Each revision will be consecutively
numbered and
dated as revised by changing the version number and revision date in the “header” section
for the
reader.
The following SOPs are not intended to be distributed to any other audience outside of the
company.
