douBLe overHand Loop



          A simple and strong fixed loop for fishing line.



          A double overhand knot (see page 52) tied on a bight cre-
          ates a strong, fixed loop that works well in slick, modern
          material such as fishing line. Since it uses a bight, it can
          be tied at the end or anywhere else along a line. This knot
          jams in rope, but it can be used in twine or small cord.

          Form a bight in the line and tie an overhand        Tuck the bight through the overhand a second
