A button knot can be used to add interest to other
 cords, such as one used as a key chain. Sometimes, as you
 might imagine, knot enthusiasts tie them just because
 they’re fun. The traditional Chinese button knot, the one
 shown here, with a complex interweaving of cord, may   to fully tighten the knot, you may need
 take some practice to achieve. Begin on a flat surface for
 easier tying  to use needle-nose pliers (or tweezers
        for thin material).
