Risk Assessments, DSE and Manual Handling
General workplace risk assessments are carried out when required or as
reasonably requested by employees or management. Line Managers are
responsible for ensuring that any necessary risk assessments are undertaken
and that recommended changes to the workplace and working practices are
implemented.
If you use a computer for prolonged periods of time or moving workstations
you can request a workstation assessment by contacting the Health and Safety
Officers or your Line Manager.
Hygiene
All employees are expected to look after their personal hygiene at all times.
This not only includes dressing any open wounds appropriately, but also
includes an expectation that your personal appearance and manner of dress
will conform to the Company’s standards at all times.
Substance Abuse Policy
We are committed to providing a safe, healthy and productive working
environment for all our employees, customers and visitors. This includes
ensuring that all employees are fit to carry out their jobs safely and effectively
in a working environment which is free from alcohol and drug misuse.
All employees are expected to arrive at work fit to carry out
their jobs and to be able to perform their duties safely without
any limitations due to the use or after effects of alcohol or
drugs (whether prescribed, over the counter or illegal).
Misuse of alcohol and drugs can lead to reduced levels of
attendance, reduced efficiency and performance, impaired
judgment and decision making and increased health and
safety risks, not only for the individual but also for others.
Irresponsible behaviour or the commission of offences
resulting from the misuse of alcohol or drugs may damage our
reputation and, as a result, our business. Behaviour of this kind
is highly likely to be treated as a disciplinary offence.
