Commissioner Champions Blood Drive
A recent visit from the American Red Cross in Conyers was a huge success! In five hours, the Red Cross
Mobile Bus greeted 38 donors and collected 22 pints of blood – surpassing the DDS established goal of 18
pints! The Agency’s Human Resources Division coordinated the event by publicizing, registering, and passing
out snacks to the donors.
Commissioner Moore was not surprised that the goal was exceeded. “The DDS Team has shown time after
time that they care about each other, our customers and the community. This vital contribution speaks to
the heart of the Agency – our dedicated Team Members.” Red Cross reminds us that one pint of blood can
save up to three lives. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, and more than 36,000 blood
