Commissioner to the Rescue!
If you were driving down the road and saw the scene
pictured at left – what would you do? Our own
Commissioner Moore would safely pull off the road and
try to help! The Commissioner was recently traveling to a
meeting in Glennville, Tattnall County, when he came up
on a serious crash. A commercial driver, hauling gravel,
swerved to avoid hitting a car that made a U-turn in the
middle of the roadway. The truck driver over corrected,
after swerving, and ended up overturned on the median.
The Commissioner immediately sprang into action by
helping the trapped truck driver. Another good
Samaritan, who also stopped, had a shovel which they
used to pry open the windshield and then helped the truck
driver climb out. The driver was shaken-up and received
some bruises and scratches. Everyone involved was
wearing seatbelts and walked away from the crash.
Emergency responders quickly arrived, and Commissioner
Moore continued on -- and was even on time for his
presentation! He says that he was just at the right place at
the right time…we say that Commissioner Moore is a
hero!

Once again, LifeLink Georgia provided each DDS Team Member a great T-shirt to wear and help celebrate
April Donate Life Month. The Mission Impossible theme was a big hit across the Agency and will surely be
a staple in our designated casual day wardrobe! DDS helps with the organ donor process by offering our
customers the opportunity to have their information submitted to the Donate Life Organ Registry as an
interested donor and also having “organ donor” printed on their license or ID. In 2017, more than 34,000
individuals received the lifesaving gift of an organ transplant across the U.S.
