THE SCOOP MARCH 2022

It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of our beloved coworker and friend Barbara Gardner. Barbara
was known for her infectious smile and kind words. She was a friend to many and a sure delight to be around.
Commissioner Moore said "She always greeted me with such a warm spirit, and I know she did the same for
many others. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. We mourn with her family as she spent countless
hours, days, and years with so many of her DDS peers."

Barbara transitioned on Monday, February 7th, of a sudden medical emergency. She retired in 2017 from DDS’s
Regulatory Compliance Division-Records Management Unit after 28 years of dedicated and faithful service. Due
to Barbara’s expertise, and knowledge; she was asked to return to DDS to assist with the clean-up of documents
in preparation for the DRIVES project. Barbara returned in 2018 without hesitation as a temporary employee. She
was instrumental in the Pandora Clean-up Project, as well as DRIVES and AWS testing. Upon her return after re-
tirement, she gave the same unbelievable attention to detail and excellence as she provided prior to retirement.

While we mourn our friend, we know that she would encourage us all to keep moving forward and enjoy life.
Each and every passing moment is precious!

Records Management has a special tribute wall dedicated to Barbara.
