Awards and Recognition
DDS is proud to have our customers and business partners acknowledge our customer service improvements.
• Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) 2016 Technology Innovation Showcase Awards
DDS was recognized for partnering with the GA Department of Corrections (GDC) with an award for advancing the
Governor’s Criminal Justice Reform at the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) 2017 Technology Showcase. DDS and
GDC Transitional Services created a process to verify data and administer identification cards to eligible, rehabilitated
citizens prior to their release. The ultimate goal of this project is to provide a form of identification to all citizens prior
to returning to society. For the fourth year in a row, DDS has received honors for utilizing technology to improve our
state’s licensing process.
• American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA)
DDS received three regional awards from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), a
national authority for driver and vehicle administration, licensing and related motor vehicle enforcement.

▪ Fraud Prevention and Detection – Law Enforcement Individua-Security Award for “Greg Dial, Criminal
Investigator II”
▪ Fraud Prevention and Detection – Motor Vehicle Individual-Security Award for “Linda Davis, Criminal
Investigator II”
• State Driver Examiner of the Year (2016)
Yolanda Cobb was named Georgia’s 2016 Driver Examiner of the Year by AAMVA. She is a team member supporting
the Albany, Dougherty County, Customer Service Center and serves thousands of customers annually. Yolanda was
selected for her excellence in adhering to the principles and recommended practices of driver examining and for a
high level of conduct in her profession.
• State Charitable Contribution Program (SCCP)
For the fourth consecutive year, DDS has received the Governor’s Cup Award in the State Charitable Contribution
Program (SCCP) for Agencies with 500-1000 employees. DDS raised $21,097. There were 713 individual pledges with
the average pledge being about $30.00.
• DDS Fastest Typist Contest
The DDS Field Operations Division engaged all CSCs in a Fastest Typist Contest to showcase our amazing
talent statewide. Each District selected their fastest typist after each CSC conducted a timed typing contest.
The nine District Winners competed in a State Contest. After several hours of competition which was done
while providing all issuance services to customers at the Atlanta CSC, the winners were:
First Place: Lucy Nash (Conyers CSC), Time 2:15.
Second Place (Tie): Janiqua Campbell (Fayetteville CSC), Time 2:52
Michelle Anderson (Savannah CSC), Time 2:52
Third Place: Martha Olivas (Gainesville CSC), Time 2:54
• Commissioner’s Customer Service Awards
The Commissioner recognizes outstanding achievements and performance with quarterly awards. Winners are
selected from team member nominations agency-wide. Recipients are nominated by their peers and judged on
individual service efforts including leadership.
