CDL Road Testing Options
DDS is working toward transitioning to the new Federal
Modernized Testing Format at all CDL testing locations
statewide.
For the latest information, please visit dds.georgia.gov to
select a location and secure a reservation.
Beginning November 2023, these DDS Customer Service
Centers (CSCs) will be offering the Modernized Road Test.
The Modernized CDL Test Study Guide for this new testing
process begins on page 96 at the back of this guide.
Between Modernized Testing and Original CDL Testing
Forsyth Modernized Testing Only
• All other CSCs will offer the Original CDL Testing but
will transition to the Modernized Testing in the future
• Customers that begin a road test and fail a section must
retest with the same type test .
