                                                   mDL FAQs

What is a mobile drivers license?
A mobile driver’s license (mDL) is a digital representation of the information contained in a physical state-issued
driver’s license (DL) or non-driver identification card.

How many other states have a mDL?
At least 17 states have considered or implemented digital driver’s licenses: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado,
Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and
   Wyoming.

Do I have to get a mDL?
No. Customers are given an option to request a free mDL in addition to their hard/physical card. The mDL is a com-
panion to the hard/physical card which should still be carried by the individual.

   Can I shread my license?
No. Whether you have a mDL or not, you need to carry the hard copy of your driver's license.
