Road Test Technology

DDS is revolutionizing the world of driver road testing with the device pictured at
left! For the safety of our Team Members and customers, our vehicle road tests will
not return to the old process where the driver examiner rides in the auto with the
customer. It is a hazardous safety issue that the Management Team does not want
to put anyone in again.

For the past several weeks, a pilot using the mobile camera has been in practice at
the Alpharetta and Fayetteville locations. As you can see in the photos below, the
examiner provides the camera to the applicant to install on their vehicle's dash.
They are provided a map with the testing route which they must follow.
This technology allows the driver examiner to remain at the CSC and receive a
real-time report as the applicant travels the testing route.

There have been 33 road tests completed using the camera with an 100% pass rate!
Like with any new technology, we did experience some technical and operational
difficultes that will need to be worked out. We will continue to monitor the perfor-
mance and make adjustments to ensure that it is an easy and reliable option for our
Team and customers. Stay tuned for more news about this as we progress in testing.
