THE SCOOP | APRIL 2021
Erica Williams, Central Issuance, took her
Moderna shots on January 29th and February 26th
at Publix Pharmacy. She experienced a sore arm and
tiredness from the first shot and experienced a sore
arm, some swelling around the injection site, chills,
and slight fever from the second shot (nothing that
Tylenol could not handle). She has not had any
lingering reactions to the vaccines. Erica was
hesitant originally due to being unsure about the
side effects but after talking to her doctor, doing her
research, and wanting to be safe around her elderly
parents, she decided to move forward. She advises
anyone who is hesitant to do the research, talk to
others who have had the vaccine, and think about
doing your part to help protect others.
Commissioner Moore took his first Pfizer
shot on February 26th at the Georgia International
Convention Center. He experienced some soreness
in his arm from the first shot, but he had no
hesitation to take the vaccine as he is the primary
care giver for his Father who is almost 80.
Spencer looks at this vaccine as a natural part of
life as previous generations have gotten the polio
vaccine, measles/mumps/rubella vaccine, etc. – it
is what you do to stop the spread of disease and
viruses. He advises others who may be hesitant to
think about your loved ones and your desire to keep
them safe and for life to get back to some sense of
normalcy (i.e. vacations, family gathering, sporting
events, etc.). Do your research and discuss the
information with your family. We need most of the
population to get vaccinated for the good of
everyone.
We know that many others have gotten the vaccine
by now, and we say thank you! For those of you that
have scheduled or are planning to schedule the
appointment for the vaccine, thank you too!
Please remember to continue to wear a mask,
sanitize and social distance. Now is not the time to
relax -- even with a vaccination.
Commissioner Moore's Dad visited with Assistant Manager
Debra Tharpe in Dublin after renewing his license. We will get through this together!
Stay DDS Safe!
