Mokolodi Nurseries -
                                                                Vygies

    Mesembryanthemum,

    Delosperma, Lampranthus,
    Ruschia and Drosanthemum

    species are easy to grow,
    waterwise succulents that make
lovely additions to a rockery .

Many of these species are indigenous
to Southern Africa, and are known as
ice plants because of the glistening
    globular bladder cells covering their
stems, fruit and leaves, and are
commonly referred to as ‘Vygies’ in
    Southern Africa.
They are tough, versatile and drought
    tolerant perennial species, and range
    from ground cover to miniature
shrublets. Perfect for the rockery, as
they are commonly found in rocky
    environments, sheltered from
    competing grasses.

Their flowers are a real attraction in
the garden, as they are long-lasting
    and almost blindingly colourful.

Plant them in full sun on well drained
soil and water well until the plants are
    established. Prune back occasionally
as they grow quickly and can soon
    smother other plants and feature

    rocks.
