FOR LLANDUDNO KARATE COMPETITORS!
Llandudno Karate students have competed at events all around the UK in recent months and have been delighted with the results.
A standout performance comes from Manny Major, aged 13. He competes at a high level in all three disciplines the martial arts school offers: Kata (forms), Kumite (sport fighting), and K1 (kickboxing). Manny won a recent K1 bout against rival Liam Lewis via a majority decision at the Ultimate Fight Night in Colwyn Bay. He was also one of two squad members to compete in the Elite International Karate competition held in London earlier this month.
Manny won 1st Place in Kumite, and Toby Simmons, 14, won 2nd place in Kata. Competitors also recently travelled to Warwick to attend the UK International competition, and are once again delighted with the results. Manny Major won 2nd in Kumite, Daisy Thompson took home two bronze medals for Kata and Kumite, and Macie Williams secured 3rd place for Kata.
Sensei Richard Prendergast 5th Dan, owner and Head Coach at Llandudno Karate, said “I am really proud of our students and coaches. They work hard and it’s rewarding to see that pay off. The coaching team and I have built a squad of
enthusiastic and talented competitors, and I’m looking forward to our upcoming competitions.” Before this year is out, students will be competing in Caernarfon, Manchester, and Abergele, and in 2024 representing Wales in Germany.”
