Repeat for the other bolts. Once the 3 ignition security bolts are loose , from under the dash you can slide the entire ignition lock assembly out of the column (towards the drivers door). No need to remove it, it just needs to clear the col- umn when you pull it out. Remove the 2 allen bolts on the other end of the column above the pedals, the column should be free now to start working out of the car. The end of the column towards the ped- als is a splined shaft that simply slides into the black housing which goes down
to the actual steering rack. You can gen- tly tap the shaft out with a small hammer as there are not bolts securing the shaft in. Now work the shaft out from under the dash. The 993 shaft simply installs in the exact opposite direction. Once you insert the column into the dash, tap the end into the splines, line up your allen bolts and security bolts and start secur- ing the column and ignition lock assem- bly back into place.
