 Through the fog they raced
a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway!
Day one dawned a little different than expected. The California sun was no- where to be seen. We were enveloped in a marine-layer (fancy term for sea-fog) and low 60-degree weather. It made for a mystical experience as we entered into the hallowed ground of Laguna Seca Raceway. We could hear the roaring sound of race engines as they screamed around the track, but could not see them. One by one, we found our assigned park- ing spots and then each other in the fog. We headed towards the distant sound of flat-6 engines. That’s when it happened; out of the fog came late ‘60s and early ‘70s 911s came howling down the track right at us.
