We made our way to and through the vendor stands, each of us picking up treasures to take home. Eventually we made it to the middle of track. We were greeted with row upon row of some of Stuttgart’s finest racing hardware. As the sun burned off the marine-layer, we spent the next few hours lost amongst the his- torical racing cars, occasionally dodging them as they headed to the track, and just enjoyed the festivities with 130,000 of our closest Porsche friends.
The girls were shopping. I think.
Souvenirs in hand, we headed back to our cars. The plan was to clean up a bit and head into Carmel for dinner. The Hog’s Breath restaurant was calling our name.
Day two would be more of day one, but with the wives. Sadly, mine was somewhere between Iowa and Chi- cago supporting the tech side of a few trade shows. We showed them row after row of real shopping; exhausts, brakes, Porsche flags, suspensions, model cars, and more. Guy-shopping at its finest.
Soon it was time for our parade laps. Having driven Laguna Seca before, I was keen to show Chad the racing line. Fred, with five passengers in his Cay- enne, was keen on making sure no one got sick. Jim, also in a Boxster, was keen on making sure that Maja, his wife, did not drop too many colorful words while video taping the event. Take a look...
Getting a taste of the twisty track re- minded Ric of some other nearby twisty roads. We headed over to Pebble Beach and its nearby famed stretch of road named 17 Mile Drive. It is a gentle undu- lating road twisting between the Pacific Ocean and some of the most expensive
“Holy s - - t-ton margaritas!”
 real estate in the United States. It was a spectacular way to end the day.
Day three greeted us with spectacular sunshine. We met at the Black Bear Res- taurant to fill up with food and gas. To- day was going to be a day of driving. Ric
