to expect, get my comfort level, learn a bit about me and made sure I had the car and paperwork ready. We emailed back and forth several times. Being the only Mini Cooper S to sign up for the event, I was paired up with the “Notorious” Matthew Sweeney – Another Mini Driver. Wow! Did we have a lot of fun together!
We checked in on Friday evening and met several people that evening who were also as
“ACCELERATE, NOW BRAKE!”
also built our excitement!
The list of drivers and their instructors was posted early the week of the event. We noticed then that the leadership team had taken great care to pair instructors with students based on car types/ models and even personalities.
Shortly after the list came out, I received an email from my
excited as we were to begin the experience.
On Saturday morning, we arrived around 7:00 am to settle in and get ready for the day.
We met several new people and watched all of the other cars and drivers arrive. There was a high number of the beautiful Porsches, but also a wide range of other cars. At 7:45, we had our first Drivers’ meeting that provided
all of the information needed
for the day’s events. At 8:00, the Novice Group (my husband and
I were both in this group) met
our instructors and hit the track for our first round. This was to introduce us to the track and to begin to get a feel for the track. This was completed at a moderate
