LEARNING OBJECTIVE
After learning activity 1, students are expected to be able to:
➢ Identify the sentences that contain the parts of the legend being asked.
➢ Identify similarities and differences in social functions, text structures
and linguistic elements of Narrative texts
➢ Read the legend with the correct intonation, pronunciation and word
stress.
➢ Understand the structure of Narrative text in giving and asking for
information related to folk legends
➢ Understand the linguistic elements of Narrative texts in giving and
asking for information related to folk legend.
B.
LEARNING MATERIAL
Narrative text is a type of text that connects
a series of events and contains fiction and
non-fiction stories (Toolan, 2016). The two
forms of text use imaginative language and
express emotion. The purpose of Narrative
text is to entertain the reader and tell stories
that happened in the past. There are several
types of Narrative texts, including: legend,
fairy tale, fable, a journey or a voyage, folk
tales.
