Campaign investment opportunities include:
• Azimuth Thruster (Z-Drive) Tug acquisition to modernize our eet with the industry standard.
• World-class simulation program to provide cadets in Marine Transportation and Engineering programs with an opportunity to hone new skills in Augmented and Virtual Reality systems. These high- delity simulators also provide continuing education opportunities for currently serving mariners, and an additional revenue stream for the school.
• Maritime work boats to replace 50-year old boats will expand Cal Maritime’s tug-and-barge licensure capabilities and broaden research opportunities for the Oceanography program. Converting all of our current eet to low-carbon boats as part of our drive toward environmental sustainability.
• Cal Maritime’s MakerSpace to provide cadets with a place to explore ideas with workspaces designed to house upgrades to facilitate development of modern equipment, tools, and technologies.
• Machine and welding shops upgrades facilitating development of greater fabrication skills, broadening the range of career opportunities available to our engineering cadets.
