Method of preparation:

1. Finely powder sulfur and resorcinol and levigate with one ml of glycerin.

2. Melt stearic acid on a water bath, then raise the temperature to 75–80 °C.

3. Dissolve potassium hydroxide in distilled water and heat to 75–80 °C.

4. Add (2) to (1) with vigorous trituration.

5. On a watch glass, levigate the mixture of sulfur and resorcinol with 1 ml of

glycerin.

6. Add the levigated drug to the formed cream while on water bath, and

triturate.

7. Remove from heat, and continue trituration until a homogenous cream is

obtained.
