Method of preparation:
1. Melt stearic acid, cetyl alchol, and lanolin on a water bath then raise the

temperature to 75–80 °C.
2. Dissolve NaOH and KOH in water and heat to 75–80°C.
3. Add (2) to (1) with vigorous trituration.
4. On a watch glass, levigate calamine with 1 ml of glycerin.
5. Add the levigated drug to the formed cream while on water bath, and

triturate.
6. Remove from heat, and continue trituration until a homogenous cream is

obtained.
