SOCIAL MEDIA
With Apps such as Snapchap / Instagram /Whatsapp / Weechat/Tiktok etc. it is very difficult to monitor the time that a child spends on their phone.
We ask that hosts try to monitor this to the best of their ability but understand that this can often be difficult. We would strongly recommend that “screen time” is not allowed during meals.
TELELVISION
As with a home computer, it is a good idea to set a guide as to how long a child / student may watch television for and to monitor the suitability of the programmes that they choose to watch depending on their age.
TELEPHONE
Most children will have mobile phones, however they may ask if they can use your telephone to accept incoming calls. Please be aware that if you allow a child to use your telephone to make outgoing
calls, experience shows that they can run up large bills. Please make it clear to the student from the outset what is and is not acceptable.
RELIGION
Some children may have strong religious beliefs and may wish to attend a place of worship. If this is the case, please
assist the child in finding the nearest church or mosque etc.
