Touching a child / student may be appropriate where a child / student is in distress and needs comforting. You should use your own judgement when you feel a child / student needs this kind of support and should be aware of any special
any special circumstances relating to the child / student. When staying with a host, the host must ensure that they may only use lawful means of touch and control.
PREVENT / ANTI-RADICALISATION
Mention to the child / student that in general the rules that are adhered to at school are similar to those that should be followed in the home.
THERE ARE SOME RULES THAT ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

No drinking alcohol for children under 16.
Ensure that alcohol is stored appropriately
Children / students aged over 16 may only drink alcohol with prior written permission of their parents and then only when supervised by the host, for example a glass of wine with a seated meal. On no account should any child / student of any age be given spirits or fortified wines to drink. Please check with College Guardians if you are uncertain as to whether the parents have given permission for this or not.
No drugs
No tattoos or body piercing
No hair dying
No staying away overnight – unless this has been agreed with College Guardians Children must not drive any car belonging to the host family
We strongly advise that you do not allow

No sexual activity of any sort
No corporal punishment

It may be that as a family you have some “house rules”, please do make sure that your guests are aware of what these are.
It is imperative that if a child breaches any of “non-negotiable” rules you contact College Guardians immediately.
