HEALTH AND SAFETY
It is your responsibility to make sure that all electrical equipment in your home is safe.
Smoke alarms must be fitted and checked regularly. Explain to the student when they arrive the basic fire escape routes, access to outside doors and the location of any necessary keys. Bedroom doors should not be locked. Please also ensure that they know to dial 999 for the emergency services.
CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
Carbon monoxide alarms should be installed in your home in all rooms that have gas or solid fuel burners.
GAS SAFETY
In accordance with the gas safety regulations 1998 – the regulations deal with the installation and maintenance of gas appliances in use in the home where applicable. An annual gas safety inspection is required to be carried out by a qualified engineer.
ELECTRICITY
we recommend that you commission a home wiring check by a qualified engineer
You should take all reasonable precautions to protect against injury and treat either a minor injury that has occurred or call for medical help if you concerned or unsure. It is sensible to have a first aid kit in the home.
Please ensure that any medicine / chemicals or poisons are kept in a suitable safe place.
