Paul, a person who was born of Christ!

Paul was a persecutor of Christians who

            underwent a profound transformation, becoming

an ardent lover of Christ and an advocate Rev. Bibins Mathews
                                                                                            Omanaly
for the Christian community. A radical and Asst. Vicar

massive change came into his life through his experience on the

road from Jerusalem to Damascus. This life changing event made

the ‘murderous persecutor’ who was breathing threats and murder

against the disciples of the Lord, to a ‘preacher’ of Christ who would

be ready to obey and honour Christ unto death. Paul testified that

God has chosen him for this moment even before he was born.

            (Galatians 1:15).

            Sufferings…

Paul was of the attitude of ‘better to lose one’s life than to waste it’.

He upheld his humble, God dependent, Christ cherishing happiness

through all his sufferings. It shows that God is most worshipped, when

we are most contented in him.

            Achievements…

Paul’s achievements were outstanding. But he did not want them to

self-glory and boasting. Paul’s enjoyment of Christ was his real delight

than the enjoyment of his accomplishments. Paul chose a path of

suffering instead of a literary career. His first letter to the Corinthians

13 could not have been written without this suffering.

            Simple and Sincere…

Paul was so gifted, and that inspired that he could fly into the theological
