Sacred Surrender

                                                                                          Harsha Ann Biju
                                                                                            Roll No. 890

“Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the

others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out

of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” - Luke 21: 3-4

Picture a bustling temple courtyard, filled with people offering their gifts

to God. Among them stood a solitary figure, a widow, clutching two small

coins - a meager offering in the eyes of many, but something of immense

value to her. This moment, often missed in the noise of the world, holds a

profound tale of faith and sacrifice.

Consider this: amidst those offerings, this woman, though seemingly

insignificant, stood apart. Onlookers might have scorned her, belittling her

offering, questioning, ‘What worth are these mere two coins to the Lord?’

But within those miserable coins lay her entire existence - her hopes, faith,

and trust. The coins weren’t valuable in worldly terms; their value lay in her

            heart’s surrender.

While others saw insignificance, she knew that God sees the depth of

our offerings. He witnessed her profound sacrifice - the love and devotion

poured into those two small coins. He saw a heart so devoted that it gave

            despite hunger, pain, and hardship.

She knew the hungry stomach, the pain of years, and the invisible battles

within. Yet, in those meager coins, she placed her entire being - her hopes,

her faith, her trust. Her offering, seemingly insignificant, spoke volumes

about her trust in God’s provision, her unwavering faith amid scarcity, and

            her love amidst poverty.
