Mass awareness through media "The Bear book"

During the COVID lockdown period, Dr. Nishith Dharaiya, the coordinator of this A fun learning activity booklet on sloth bear is prepared in English and Gujarati
project and the Co-Chair of the IUCN Sloth bear expert team was invited to give with playful activities for the school kids.
a talk on sloth bear on various media like Doordarshan, All India Radio, FM
radio, and various social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, etc. Dr.
Dharaiya and our project team have delivered talks in the local language as well
as in English to raise mass awareness on the sloth bear and its conservation
importance.

Development of school education materials

and manuals for training

A faculty member and group of students from the University of Florida
volunteered with us and helped us develop the modules for children and bear
safety education as well as a manual for the training of forest field staff. The
students were divided into three groups, out of which one group has helped
with fundraising for the project.
