Fthe Destin Commons’ annual Smoke on the Coast
BBQ and Fireworks Festival on July 3. Café Rico, a local
food truck with a mouth-watering Latin-Caribbean If you are local or in-town visiting over the fourth of

organization that participates in the event, through BBQ. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends with a
Destin Commons’ Coins for a Cause program, receives a spectacular firework display at Destin Commons.
$2,500 donation.

Coins for a Cause is funded by the coins in the
parking meters at the outdoor mall and the program
has $85,000 in donations to allocate to participating
charities at Smoke on the Coast! Each charity competes
for the People’s Choice, Judge’s Pick and the Most
Spirited awards that result in additional donations. In
2019, judges awarded Dog-Harmony and Café Rico
second place for best BBQ. The team also took fourth
place for the People’s Choice Award.
