To take turns making rain sounds and suggesting clothing to put on to protect you from the rain

To encourage listening and attention through the use of props (sparkly bag and rain laminate)

To know what clothing should be worn in the rain to keep you dry

To make the sound of rain and pretend to put on various types of wet weather clothing

To develop listening and attention through joining in with a song and changing dynamics (singing quietly like fairies and loudly like giants), to listen for the signal to “splash” and to follow directions

To pre-empt and join in with the lyrics of the song which follow a repetitive structure/pattern

To motivate children to be active, to move freely and with pleasure and confidence in a range of ways (including jumping, walking on tippy toes and stomping heavily) and to develop locomotor coordination
