Daddy finger, daddy finger, where are you? (hands hidden behind back)
Here I am, here I am, (reveal right thumb and then left)
And how do you do? (thumbs facing each other and bending as though bowing to each other)
Repeat for mummy (index) finger, brother (middle) finger, sister (ring) finger and baby (pinkie) finger.

Opening lines: “The Jones family were sitting down for a nice Sunday roast. As Mr Jones brought out a giant leg of lamb, he tripped over the family dog and the lamb went flying!”

7. Act out the story

8. Moving around the room: ‘We Are Family’ performed by Sister Sledge “Now it’s time to turn into different people from our families.” Ask a volunteer to name something that their mummy likes to do. Ask another volunteer to name something that their daddy likes to do. Ask another volunteer to name something their brother or sister likes to do. Ask another volunteer to name something their grandma or grandpa likes to do. “Take out your magic wands and after one, two, three abracadabra, we’re all going to turn into mummies. One, two, three abracadabra!” Play the music and act out performing the mummy activity suggested by the volunteer. You then lead the children in performing your own mummy activity ideas (making sure to avoid negative stereotypes). Then lead the children in performing activities performed by other family members (beginning with the volunteer’s suggestion and ending with your own ideas). *Running time approx. 3 mins.
9. Travel back to the real world and give out magic sparkles
