Tell all the little monsters to lie down and go to sleep. Sing the song acapella. When you say, ‘wake up little monsters’, the children wake up and move around the room, roaring like monsters. After the first verse, tell the children you will be singing about lots of different Halloween creatures and that they must listen to the words and think carefully about how each creature moves.
(gently) See the monsters sleeping, ‘till it’s nearly noon. Shall we wake them with a scary tune?
They’re so still! Are they ill?
(spoken) Wake up little monsters!
(with bounce) Roar little monsters roar, roar, roar, roar, roar, roar, roar, roar, roar! Roar little monsters roar, roar, roar, roar, roar, roar! x 2
