Can anyone remember what we learnt about last week?” Ask a few volunteers to name a nursery rhyme then say it all together with actions. If you don’t know any actions you can make some up. If you don’t know the nursery rhyme, ask the child if they’d like to stand up and perform it as a solo.

The children are seated around the parachute. Reveal the ‘Pop Goes the Weasel’ laminate and ask them to guess the nursery rhyme. The children stand up and walk the parachute around in a circle as you sing the song acapella. Each time you say ‘Pop’ they stop walking and quickly lift the parachute up. Repeat. Place a small teddy on top of the parachute. Repeat the activity again and on ‘Pop’ the teddy should be flung up high into the air.
