Page 6 - Minnie Mouse One Hour
P. 6
Minnie Mouse = point to imaginary bow on head and say, “look at my bow,” in a high, squeaky voice
Daisy Duck = snap hands together three times as you say “quack, quack, quack”
Silly Pete = find a friend or two to hug and scream “ahh”
Goofy = say “oh gawrsh” using a Goofy voice as you stumble to the floor (try to be comical and make the children laugh)
Disney Disco = hold hands with a partner and jump up and down as you sing “celebrate good times come on” (the famous line from Kool and the Gang’s ‘Celebration’)
a) “To be a real friend of Minnie’s you have to be very clever so now we’re going to play a game to see how strong and clever your brains are today. Every time I say ‘Minnie Mouse’ you have to remember to say ‘look at my bow’.” Demonstrate the action listed above (pointing to an imaginary bow) as you say, “look at my bow”. Then you say, “Minnie Mouse,” and the children point to imaginary bows on their heads as they say, “look at my bow”. Practice several times.
b) One by one add in the rest of the actions listed above. Make sure to mix up the order in which you are saying them as you teach the game.
c) At first, do all the actions and sounds with the children.
d) When they have got the hang of it, you tell them you are now watching to see if they can
be really clever and remember all of the sounds and actions without your help.
e) Lots of energy!
13. CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE TWO: ‘Mickey’ performed by Toni Basil
Click on song name to open the video in YouTube.
“Does anyone know who Minnie Mouse’s favourite boy mouse is? That’s right, it’s Mickey Mouse! And now I’m going to teach you Minnie’s dance which is all about Mickey!” Hand each child a coloured scarf and practice the tricky moves. “We’re going to pretend that our scarves are pom poms so we can be cheerleaders!” Play the track and perform the dance as in the video.
14. GIVE THE BIRTHDAY CARD: ‘Happy Birthday’ by Traditional
Give the birthday boy/girl their card, read it aloud and sing the traditional ‘Happy Birthday’ song acapella.
15. BUBBLES: ‘Happy’ written and performed by Pharrell Williams
Play the song and use your bubble machine to create lots of bubbles for the children to pop. You should dance as you do this.
16. PRIZES: ‘Minnie’s Bowtique’ performed by Minnie and the Picture Puzzle Girls
Play the track and give each child some magic sparkles and a Haribo treat. Once you’ve packed up remember to ask the parents if you can put a party flyer in each of the party bags and if you can have a photo with the birthday child (if photo consent given on the booking form).
