Vivienne was interviewed to help determine SICK BUILDING S Y NDROME
her reliance on heating and cooling systems, A T TIT UDE F OC US
and if an initial investment in better quality
building systems and design would have
appealed to her.
She mentioned that she wouldn’t be able
to differentiate between a home which had
better quality systems, stating she has “only
ever known it to be warm inside when it is
hot, and cold inside when it is cold.”
She mentioned that she only heated and
cooled particular areas of the home when
it was needed, such as the bedroom prior
to going to bed. When it is warm, she
always has the sliding doors open to get
natural ventilation into the home. She then
explained that she would keep the doors
closed if the outside temperature was too
hot, preferring to close the blinds to stop the
heat.
