PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
OVERVIEW Functional needs:

• Multi-generational use/future proofing the design

• Bedrooms separate from living areas

• Open kitchen, with ability to block off a living area

• Facilitate and encourage gardening, cooking, catching up with family and
friends, reading, yoga and meditation, beach, running, walking, swimming,
sunbathing, paddling, making music and art, computer based work, home
gym.

Specific Requirements

• TV is not overly important, occasionaly watch on weekends

• Music is constant with good sound system

• Infrared sauna, guitar storage, computer set-up in a couple of areas

• Room for art on the walls, display old collection of typewriters

• High ceilings where possible

• Fireplace

• Double garage with storage for lawn mower, tools, camping gear etc.

• Reading nook/snug

• Sunken lounge

• Rooftop space/garden & entertainment. Potential ocean views

• Floor boards with large rugs in living, carpet in bedrooms

• Sheer curtains for privacy and to soften room. Blinds or curtains to block
light in bedrooms. Sun/cold block either internally or externally or both for
extra hot or cold days

• Cooking is an enjoyed activity, entertaining more is seen as a priority.

• Integration with the outdoors, e.g. pocket courtyards, atrium in bathroom,
garden alcove between living areas to shelter from wind and western sun
