Colin Bryan - Consultant - Biography Colin Bryan has over 40 years’ experience as an Environmental Consultant
Colin started his career in Environmental Consultancy in 1977, as a chemical engineer within a multi- disciplined consultancy and laboratory operation, culminating in him achieving Associate Director and leading the Chemical Engineering Department; prior to him leaving the business in 1992. Following appointments at other consultancies he set up as an independent advisor in 1997.
During this time, he developed both his technical and managerial skills, whilst undertaking numerous successful environmental protection projects and environmental audits including:
◆ Design and specification of effluent and atmospheric emission abatement plants.
◆ Monitoring of performance of effluent and atmospheric emission abatement plants.
◆ Supervision of COSHH monitoring and LEV testing projects.
◆ Corporate Environmental Legal Compliance Audits.
◆ Responsibility for the design, specification and installation of many wastewater treatment plants, with
budgets up to £20 million.
Since 1997, Colin has worked in the private sector for companies of all sizes; providing both design consultancy and environmental advise on a number of issues including; effluent treatment feasibility studies, COSHH and emission monitoring, Legionella control, training in environmental management, waste minimisation and; expert witness statements regarding environmental pollution.
Annual and 3-year Corporate Environmental Legal Compliance Audits are carried for several manufacturing clients.
His industry experience for both consultancy and training services cover a range of industries including manufacturing, automobile, chemical, electronic, metal finishing, nuclear, pharmaceutical, food and sewage treatment. He was also appointed as a consultant to the Governments Envirowise Programme which provided free environmental advice to SME’s.
Colin’s achievements to date demonstrate his ability to work in different challenging environments. With his knowledge and experience he has:

◆ Strong managerial, analytical and organisation skills, along with the ability to develop and implement a practical and logical approach.
◆ Experience in planning and managing projects; from concept to culmination, demonstrated by completion of health and safety objectives in line with a health and safety plan.
◆ Ability to demonstrate initiative, drive change and improvements within an organisation
◆ Extensive proven training skills, including the formulation, development and presentation of training
packages.
