47. The Nile

He whispered in my ears the sound of rain

A feeling I never felt with any man

I have been there and done that

But when it came to him, I was inexperienced

Adamant to prove a point with my intellect

I ranted while he sat back to listen

                          Not shout, ridicule or demean

                                 But only to listen

Once I ran out of air

                                He gently stood up

Took me in his arms and embraced me

The rain showered with vigilant hiccups

But he held me tighter, breaking it all apart

He is similar to no man I‟ve been with

For he caressed my spirit and soul

                              Not my body and mind

And just like the Nile, he flooded me

He flooded me with his Holy Spirit

                                                                             69
