640 INSTALLING VENTING HARDCORE LAYERS
• Filling: Spread and level in 150 mm maximum layers. Thoroughly compact each
layer whilst maintaining enough voids to allow efficient venting.

650 LAYING HORIZONTAL GEOCOMPOSITE GAS VENTING LAYERS
• Base: Venting hardcore layer.
• Jointing: Butt joint. If the geocomposite material includes an integral gas retardant
membrane, make gastight joints.
• Fitting: Cut neatly around pile caps, other obstructions or service penetrations.

655 APPLYING VERTICAL GEOCOMPOSITE GAS VENTING LAYERS
• Apply: Outside external waterproofing membranes.
• Substrate: site specific.
• Condition of adjoining surfaces: Clean and dry.
• Jointing method: Double welted joints sealed with waterproof adhesive.
