This is often referred to as the initial break-in curve and accounts for approximately 7% of all items.
It has two distinct phases:
• Low conditional probability of failure
o A period where the conditional probability of failure begins low but increases to ward
a constant level
• Constant probability of failure
o A period where random failure is expected but the probability of failure remains low
and does not vary over time
